You will notice that most of everything written and in pictures references Lindsay. This is because she was the twin who survived late into the pregnancy. Taylor died very early in the pregnancy (around 10 weeks). We did not know if Taylor was a boy or girl (which is why we chose a gender neutral name), and never got to see the body, as I basically experienced a "missed" miscarriage. Lindsay survived and thrived until 20 weeks. She was perfectly healthy and formed, but was stillborn due to cord complications. I had to be induced into labour and delivery, and had to actually deliver her body, see her, hold her, and bury her. This is why only Lindsay's name is on the memorial plaque at the cemetery as well. We did not bury Taylor because we did not get a body. We buried Lindsay, so her name is on the plaque and grave card. This does not mean that we value Taylor's life any less. The situation with Lindsay was very different to what happened with Taylor. We are not sure why Taylor stopped developing. The official diagnosis was "Vanishing Twin Syndrome". Lindsay had a problem with her cord (single umbilical artery). She was strangled to death by her cord, after it got wrapped tightly around her neck a few times. While this website is in loving memory of both babies, it is really a memorial for Lindsay, who was born and buried.
